AMRITHA NAIR, PH.D. is an Entrepreneurship Fellow at Fannin (Class of 2017). She was raised in Chennai, India where she graduated from Stella Maris College, University of Madras earning a BSc in Zoology followed by a Master’s in Human Genetics from Sri Ramachandra University, India. Having developed a passion for genetic research during this time she subsequently moved to Houston to attend Baylor College of Medicine at the Texas Medical Center to earn her PhD in Molecular and Human Genetics. In her thesis project she sought to identify therapeutic inroads into the treatment of Triple Negative Breast cancer [TNBC] using genetic and pharmacological tools. She is interested in translating innovation from the lab bench to novel bio-medical solutions that can ultimately improve consumer health at large.
