DIANE MARKESICH has been Director of Operations at Pulmotect since March 2013. Her experience in biomedical Research and Development includes studies in human infectious diseases and immunology in gastroenterology (H. Pylori, Inflammatory Bowel Disease). She was Associate Director of Target Validation at Lexicon Pharmaceuticals, where she directed the high-throughput embryonic stem cell clone production laboratories and the knock-out mouse phenotyping operations, for validation of novel drug targets. She obtained her Ph.D. at Rice University, studying the genetics of maternal effect mutations on embryonic development, in the department of Biochemistry and Cell Biology. Since 2013, Dr. Markesich has served as a reviewer of grants and contracts for the Small Business Innovative Research program at the National Institutes of Health.
